Non-Immigrant Visa for Employment (B)
 

• For the purpose of employment (Type “B”) - Single-Entry only; no multiple entry visas
For information on procedure for working in Thailand see "Standard Process for Foreigners Who Wish to Work in Thailand."

Note:  All employment-based Non-Immigrant Visas with or without a valid Work Permit including teaching will be issued single-entry visas.

       - When submitting application  include:

       - Your actual passport - valid for at least six more months and passport must have some blank visa pages - include a copy of the "picture/information" page of the passport
       - Two recent passport-type photos
       - Copy U.S. Permanent Resident card or long-term U.S. Visa (does not apply to U.S. passport holders)
       - Completed visa application [download]
       - Recent bank statement showing at least $700 US
       - Copy of airline tickets or e-ticket

- An original letter of invitation on company letterhead from the business host in Thailand stating the applicant's title, expertise, duties and responsibilities.

Corporate documents of hiring company in Thailand such as:
business registration and business license
list of shareholders
company profile
details of business operation
list of foreign workers stating names, nationalities and positions
map indicating location of the company
balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30 of the latest year)
value-added tax registration (Por Por 20)
- Corporate documents of hiring company in Thailand including:
   - Business registration and business license which is issued by the Department of Commercial Registration and certified by the Department not less than 3 months
   - List of shareholders from the business host in Thailand
   - Company profile of the business host in Thailand
   - Details of business operation of business host in Thailand
   - List of foreign workers stating names, nationalities and positions
   - Map indicating location of the company
   - Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30 of the latest year)
   - Value-added tax registration (Por Por 20)

- Employment contract indicating rationale for hiring the applicant as well as his/her salary, position and qualification.

- A copy of details of business operation.

- A copy of work permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare if the applicant has previously worked in Thailand. 

- The approval letter from the Ministry Labour and Social Welfare -  Applicant may not be required to submit this document with his/her visa application but the employer should begin processing the request to avoid any delays in processing the Work Permit.  The Visa Officer may ask for this document depending on the type of employment.
     (The employer of the applicant should first apply for and receive the approval letter for the applicant’s employment through Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Mit-Maitree Rd. Dindaeng, BKK 10400 Tel. (662) 617-6578 Fax. (662) 617-6576 in case of up-country the employer apply through the District Office /or the Province Office. Once the approval letter has been granted, the applicant attach this approval with his/her visa application)

• For the purpose of employment (Type “B”) as a Teacher (For information on procedure for working in Thailand see "Standard Process for Foreigners Who Wish to Work in Thailand."):


- Note: Visa may be stamped with name of school which petitioned visa for applicant

       - When submitting application  include:

       - Your actual passport - valid for at least six more months (18 more months if applying for multiple-entry visa) and passport must have some blank visa pages - include a copy of the "picture/information" page of the passport
       - Two recent passport-type photos
       - Copy U.S. Permanent Resident card or long-term U.S. Visa (does not apply to U.S. passport holders)
       - Completed visa application [download]
       - Recent bank statement showing at least $700 US
       - Copy of airline tickets or e-ticket
- Letter on school letterhead stating that the applicant has been hired for teaching.
- Copy of the school's registration in Thailand
- Letter approving your employment as a teacher from a Thai government agency such as the Ministry of Education, Office of the Private Education Commission, or the Office of the Basic Education Commission is required
- If teaching K-12 students, the school will require that you obtain a police clearance from your local police department.  Please include a copy of the clearance letter (original you should present to the school in Thailand)
- Applicant must provide copies of documentation showing qualifications for teaching including but not limited to diplomas, certificates, letters verifying teaching experience, teaching credentials, educational background, resume, etc.
- Visa fee is $80 (single-entry only) payable by cashiers check or money order made payable to "Royal Thai Consulate General, Los Angeles"
